Tools instead of spreadsheets
Most companies do not need new off-the-shelf software, they need less manual work around the software they already have: data re-keyed between systems, approvals by e-mail, reports someone assembles in Excel every month.
That is exactly where I start.
What I build
- Data capture and approvals — orders, requests, authorisations with roles and a traceable history.
- Dashboards and reporting — current figures out of the systems in which they arise anyway.
- Integrations — DATEV, accounting, ERP, inventory management, CRM. Through APIs, not through overnight CSV exports.
- Automation — recurring manual steps that run reliably in the background.
Scope and cost
The first cut is deliberately narrow — not because there is little work behind it, but because internal tools succeed precisely this way: one process represented completely and robustly, rather than ten processes that half work and therefore keep running through Excel. The real work lies below the surface anyway — data model, roles and permissions, integrations, traceability. Once that foundation stands, further stages are plannable and their costs can be estimated.

When is a custom tool worth it instead of off-the-shelf software?
When the standard solution covers 70 % and the remaining 30 % is handled through spreadsheets and manual re-keying. A custom tool does exactly what your process needs — and nothing gets in the way.
Can you integrate with our existing systems?
Yes. I build integrations through APIs — DATEV and accounting, ERP, inventory management, CRM, spreadsheets and internal databases. That way data stops existing in five copies.
What if we do not have a precise specification yet?
That is the normal case. I start by mapping the process, identify the biggest time sinks and propose the cut that removes them first — the specification emerges along the way.
How is data processing handled?
Internal tools frequently touch personnel, payroll and financial data, so before development I define which categories of data the tool processes at all and who may see them. Czechia is an EU member state, the GDPR applies directly. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is standard; standard contractual clauses are not required.
